For the first time, it felt like we finally knew what to do. Kayla gave us the confidence to know that if something doesn’t feel right, we should lean into that and trust in our beliefs and intuitions.
— Jenna, second time mom
Kayla helped us learn how to make well-informed and confident decisions regarding labor/delivery in a hospital setting. She also helped us navigate going past my due date and how to best advocate my wishes for a natural birth despite requiring an induction. Learning how to best prepare emotionally and mentally was by far the most helpful during active labor. I would highly recommend her to any birthing mamas!

"Meeting with Kayla at 'My Birth Choices' was so so helpful in my husband and I making a decision for our baby due this November. We are so grateful for her guidance, wisdom, and teaching!"
-R.M., Review of consultation
“Meeting with Kayla was one of the most pleasant experiences that I have had. Her presence simultanously poured peace and empowerment over me in one conversation. She is attentive and knowledable with a gentle, but fierce spirit. She is simply wonderful.”
-S.F., review of Consultation
“Kayla is a blessing to every parent and family who has questions about anything birth related! I have worked with Kayla and seen her work with families over the past several years. She is abundantly kind, informed, and unimaginably supportive -- the perfect teammate! There are so many questions, hurtles, and misunderstandings about birth. I'm so thankful Kayla is supporting our community and helping to untangle these issues in a value-centered approach to decision-making. Without a doubt, an empowering pregnancy and birth starts with a conversation with Kayla!”
— Olivia, Midwife Rochester Community Midwives
“Kayla validated the hard work and self education we’ve done since our daughter’s birth. She met our questions and concerns without judgement and truly supported us. Kayla introduced us to her 5 pillars of empowerment and reassured us that we are doing what is right for US (that’s important). She walked us through what we could expect on an institution level with the health system - what possible interventions might be offered and what we could do or say in the event that our intuitions started waving red flags. I just don’t feel like there is any information out there for parents that are in this position, so this was huge for us! For the first time, it felt like we finally knew what to do. Kayla gave us the confidence to know that if something doesn’t feel right, we should lean into that and trust in our beliefs and intuitions. We left our meeting feeling incredibly grateful, but also extremely empowered with our decision.

The resources and wealth of knowledge Kayla can provide is invaluable. She provided answers that we didn’t think existed. My only regret is not knowing her sooner in our pregnancy journey!”
— Jenna, second time mom
“Kayla was very knowledgeable and understanding during our free consult regarding my second pregnancy. I would highly recommend seeking out her expertise on pregnancy and birth to any mom, first time or not! I am already looking forward to our next consult and feel better equipped for this birth with the education and resources that Kayla has provided.”
— Kailee, second time mom
Review of Kailee's subsequent 90 minute consultation:
“We left the consultation encouraged and empowered to have the birth experience we want. My husband gained more confidence in specific ways to support me in and after labor. I learned more ways to advocate for myself and have more faith in my body’s ability to have a healthy, safe birth. Kayla is an excellent communicator and encourager, I would recommend seeking her expertise to every mom!”
“As a midwife, I would highly recommend My Birth Choices to anyone walking into pregnancy wanting to me informed about any topic related to pregnancy, labor, delivery, postpartum, etc. I've had the privilege to be in the birth community with Kayla, attending a few births with her, doing workshops together, and chatting about our own birth experiences. She is a wonderful listener and thoughtful advocate for birthing momma's and their families.”

“Working with Kayla at My Birth Choices was incredible. We chose to do pregnancy partnership after our free consult, and then later decided to include doula services as well, and that was an excellent choice for us. Right from the initial consult, Kayla was insightful, supportive, and knowledgeable. She truly listened to us, and everything from her resource recommendations to her birth education was individualized and timed exactly when we needed it.
Pregnancy partnership was extremely valuable and all moms-to-be, regardless of birth setting or phase of parenthood, would benefit from it. Pregnancy partnership offered a way of paring down the huge amount of pregnancy education into resources and guidance that worked for us and affirmed our vision. Kayla was incredibly accessible and kind, and never failed to answer my questions with intentionality and insight. I trusted Kayla and her guidance deeply because I knew she understood the vision we had for our birth and truly cared about us as people. Pregnancy partnership didn’t replace my husband’s involvement- rather it empowered him to have the knowledge and confidence to best support me. I know it can be challenging when partners want to be helpful and supportive, but just aren’t sure how, and can feel powerless during labor when things are out of their control. Pregnancy partnership and Kayla’s support empowered my husband and gave him the skills to be the best partner he could be during our pregnancy and birth journey. Kayla supported us all together, not just me."
— Hannah, first time mom
“I first met Kayla through a consultation to see if she was a right fit for my pregnancy/birth. She was professional, kind, and personable. She laid out my options clearly and seemed to genuinely want to help me achieve my birth goals. I then signed up for her pregnancy partnership.
I would highly recommend the pregnancy partnership, even as a second time mom. Kayla assessed mine and my husband’s level of knowledge and what our birth goals were. She then made a personalized plan to educate and support both my husband and I throughout the pregnancy. I know I wouldn’t have felt as prepared for birth if I didn’t have Kayla’s support.
Even though Kayla wasn’t able to provide in person support for my labor, she was available via text and phone throughout the whole thing. My water broke at 35 weeks, and I had to be induced, a huge change from my home birth plan. Kayla immediately calmed my nerves and kept me focus. She suggested ways to make the best decisions and advocated for me to keep my birth values in mind, even when the circumstances were less than ideal. In an uncertain time, Kayla was a rock and her support was invaluable. And her services continued in postpartum as well; checking in with me periodically and giving support during a difficult postpartum. I truly appreciate all of her support and compassion.”

“During my pregnancy, I felt weighed down with the constant flow of other’s input, stories, or trauma about their birth experiences. Kayla’s voice could not have been more different. Her words were so welcomed as they were saturated in encouragement, rooted in knowledge, and incredibly insightful. During every meeting I would end up taking notes on my phone with new thoughts, questions I was eager to discuss with my husband that day, and left with an anticipatory heart for what was to come. She is uniquely gifted to encourage and educate in ways you did not know you needed.”
— Mel, first time mom
“As first time parents, my husband and I had lots of questions and didn't want to get conflicting or bad advice from Google. We wanted someone who was intentional on building relationships with her clients, passionate, and knowledgeable in her field. Kayla has met our expectations and then some! She walked through the stages of labor with us, gave great examples, and told my husband what his role was and what to look for. It was exactly what we needed! She came after we had our baby and we were able to relive and be excited about our birth story with her. Kayla gave great advice about baby, relationship tips, listened intenentuonal and asked clarifying questions to make sure she understood before and after baby our came. I would 100% recommend her to all my friends as a great resource as first time parents!”

"I greatly appreciate Aimee! She was fantastic at helping me cope through the process and remain calm during a challenging situation"
- Grace M“My husband and I had the privilege of having Kayla walk alongside us with the pregnancy of our second child. She offered us dependable support throughout the entire pregnancy and post partum. It was so valuable to have one consistent person outside of my midwives care team who knew birth and myself so well. I felt spoiled to have all of Kayla’s expertise so easily accessible to go to with questions. That individualized educated care is invaluable and lead to great confidence in accomplishing my goals for a non-medicated peaceful redemptive birth with my second child. She is a great prompt communicator and you for sure want her on your team as you navigate this wonderful season of growing new life. “
— Leah, second time mom
“Lisa, We can’t begin to thank you enough for your help during my labor and delivery. I know I never would have made it as far without the medications. I appreciate all the time you spent with us and the time educating us before baby’s arrival. We are so blessed even though the outcome wasn’t exactly what we planned. Again thank you so much for everything and stay tuned for our next one!”
-P. and A. , First-time parents
“Aimee came in like an angel when my original doula was an able to provide in person services. My water broke at 35 weeks and I had to be induced with pitocin for 12 hours, which was not my birth plan whatsoever. The first time I met Aimee I was on pitocin for 10 hours and was deep in labor land. I was coping okay on my own and with my husband’s help, but Aimee’s timing couldn’t have been more perfect because we were reaching our limits. She jumped right in with comfort measures and encouraging words. She gave me suggestions for different positions that helped baby get in optimal position. I am so grateful for Aimee’s help in my active labor and immediate post partum period. I really don’t think I could have gave birth with no pain medicine without her help (which was a huge goal of mine). I would highly recommend her services to any expecting mother!”
-Alix, second-time mother
“Kayla was so attentive and responsive. She validated my previous birth experiences by listening intently. She never made me feel judged, but instead empowered me to make an informed decision. Kayla provided individualized care in a world that throws quick solutions around. She lives and breaths health & wellness by weaving it into her words and actions. Kayla has a brilliant mind and a kind heart. She provides research-based care, follows through, and maintains professionalism while coming alongside your journey as a dear friend would do. I would 100% recommend working with My Birth Choices!”
— Chelsea, second time mom
"Without Kayla, I would have become overwhelmed by the amount of pregnancy and birth education out there – resources that often disagree. She helped curate education that was right for us in our journey, and resources that opened my eyes to what can be possible. During birth, she was a steadfast support. Her knowledge of birth and her familiarity with how healthcare functions was incredibly valuable. She helped us talk through and understand decisions when we were unsure, always with the knowledge that she would support us in whatever choice we made. Even though my labor was long and difficult, I never felt helpless or lost because of Kayla’s steady presence and helpful suggestions."

"Take the reins! A pregnancy and birth journey isn’t just a train that leaves the station on a single set of tracks. Take the time to figure out what your ideal birth would look like and take steps to prepare for that vision. Pregnancy partnership can help arm you with the confidence to fearlessly make the right choices for you and your birth. Mainstream education and many pregnancy classes apply a “one-size-fits-all” approach to pregnancy and birth. Kayla at My Birth Partners breaks that mold and gives individualized education and support geared just for me and my unique journey."
